Cap Ferret & Arcachon Bay

Unique in the world and of breathtaking beauty, the peninsula of Cap Ferret is a protected-natural site lying between the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay of Arcachon.

Cap Ferret

The west coast, facing the Atlantic Ocean, offers white sandy beaches protected by large golden sand dunes, behind which the very green pine trees extend into thousands of hectares of forest.

The east coast, surrounded by the calm waters of the bay, houses picturesque oyster-farming villages with charming names and listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO: Claouey, Petit Piquey, Grand Piquey, le Canon, l'Herbe, la Vigne… visit the oyster cabins to enjoy the best quality seafood accompanied by a glass of white Bordeaux.

Arcachon Bay

Arcachon is the oldest resort of La Cote d’Argent and has always been a popular destination with affluent French. The town is renowned for its virtues to bring good health and well-being to its visitors.

The town of Arcachon is situated in the south-east coast of the Arcachon bay, an interior sea of 15000 hectares protected from the open ocean by the Cap Ferret peninsular. The calm waters, large sandy beaches and idyllic streets contribute to making Arcachon into a haven for romantic strolls, afternoon shopping and relaxation.

Head to the waterfront to the water front to find seafood restaurants and gourmet restaurants offering stunning views of the Arcachon Bay or try the market square for fresh food in a typically local setting

The picturesque neighbourhood of "La Ville d'Hiver" is composed of magnificent villas, true architectural jewels from the end of the XIXth century.
